Director General of the Department for the Americas and Asia - Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland visited and worked with Vietnam-Finland International School (VFIS)
On January 21st, 2019, at Ton Duc Thang University, a meeting was held with the participation of the representatives such as Director General Kimmo Lähdevirta for the Americas and Asia of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, Finnish Ambassador to Vietnam Kari Kahiluoto, Professor Le Vinh Danh – President of Ton Duc Thang University and the representatives of the Board Management of Vietnam-Finland International School (VFIS).
At the meeting, Prof. Le Vinh Danh and Mr. Mika Rantala, VFIS Adviser, reported the progress of VFIS project and share about the upcoming orientations for VFIS.
The Director General and the Ambassador were very happy about the effective cooperation of experts, consulting companies and the Embassy of Finland in the process of supporting TDTU to implement VFIS Project that marks a significance milestone in the collaboration between the governments of Finland and Vietnam in education and training. At the meeting, the Director General affirmed that Finland will always strengthen its support to spread Finnish education to the community. Specifically, the Embassy will propose Finnish education experts to join together with VFIS during the next teacher training course in February 2019.
On behalf of Ton Duc Thang University, Prof. Le Vinh Danh thanked Mr. Kimmo Lähdevirta and Mr. Kari Kahiluoto for their support to help VFIS achieve many accomplishments ahead of the schedule in recent years. The President also invited the Department for Americas and Asia and the Embassy of Finland to visit VFIS in April 2019 when VFIS begins to open for visitors. At the same time, VFIS also invited visitors to take part in the Inauguration Ceremony, combining with the Opening Ceremony for VFIS first Academic year on August 12th, 2019.
