Vietnam-Finland International School (VFIS) is a state-of-the-art international school providing both international and bilingual programmes for grades 1-12 with a diverse staff community consisting of Finnish, International, and Vietnamese teachers. Our two international programmes offer Finnish curriculum learning for Grades 1-10, followed by the International Baccalaureate program (IBDP) for Grades 11-12. Our bilingual programme offers G1-12 learning following the Vietnamese curriculum fused with the Finnish approach to holistic student development.

What are we expecting from you?

  • A teaching qualification and a minimum of 3 years of experience (in any language).
  • Experience with (or motivation to learn) the Finnish curriculum, and eager to develop curricula and the Finnish approach at VFIS.
  • Openness to teaching classes across all grade 1-12 age groups.
  • Confident English language proficiency for teaching.
  • Cultural understanding: working and living in South-East Asia requires the ability to adjust to completely new and changing environments.
  • An international and collaborative mindset.
  • Flexibility and openness to working in a dynamic school environment.
  • Dedication to provide the best possible learning and development experience for all our students.

Working hours

  • Term Time: Mon-Fri 8am-4pm
  • Teaching upto 24 classes / week
  • Attendance at professional development days at the start of each teaching quarter.

Overview of duties

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons and curricula to Finnish and Vietnamese standards
  • Administrative duties (students comments, continual tracking of progress, assessment development and grading etc…)
  • Recess supervision
  • Providing Extra Curricular Activities (within regular school hours)
