1. Recruitment announcement for Primary Teachers

Requirement Policy:

  • From 22 - 35 years old;
  • Graduated from the Universities of Education, major: Primary Education;
  • English: B2 level;

Recruitment Procedure:

Candidates will participate in four rounds of competition, which are enumerated below:

  • Round 1: Candidate submits an application with an essay of 500 - 1000 words in English, presenting the thoughts on any topic related to education. Unique and special ideas will be appreciated.
  • Round 2: Candidates selected in the first round will be invited for an interview which will be conducted in English. Candidates will talk about the personal knowledge relating to objectives, methods, advanced teaching, modern teaching, the role of education in the development of human personality and proposals which can maximize students' abilities.
  • Round 3: Candidates will do the Teaching Demo with subjects in primary education curriculum in English and Vietnamese.
  • Round 4: Candidates will do the EQ, IQ tests and English tests (if no English certificate submitted before) and a final interview with Management Board of TDTU and VFIS. 

After being recruited, teachers will be trained according to the Finnish contents, programs and teaching methods before officially teaching at VFIS in the academic year of 2021 - 2022.

2.  Recruitment Announcement for VFIS classteacher (Secondary and Upper Secondary)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: VFIS Class teacher (Secondary and Upper secondary) 

Reporting to and Evaluated by:  Deputy Head of School

Status: Full time

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Planning, Teaching & Supporting:
  • Planning, preparing and implementing engaging and meaningful lessons to pupils based on VFIS core curriculum
  • Delivering planned lessons (max 20 teaching hours/week) in an innovative way
  • Evaluating  own teaching and other work that support teaching
  • Consistent monitoring on pupils progress
  • Assessing pupils’ learning and adapting  teaching to their learning needs and styles and 
  • Providing special support when needed
  • Co-operating in planning, preparing  and implementing lessons and study programs with other teachers, specialists and teams
  • Keeping record of pupil attendance
  • Contributing to develop the school curriculum 

 
Leading & Inspiring

  • Upbringing pupils and encouraging their love of learning
  • Being a homeroom teacher
  • Taking care of pupil’s supervision and safety
  • Bridging parents and pupils to the school, actively reaching out to parents on pupil’s issues or just befriending

 
Sharing & Collaborating

  • Closely collaborating with pupil welfare and pupil support team
  • Actively supporting and participating in school events and programs
  • Sharing workload with other teachers or covering other teacher’s class if needed
  • Contributing  in  any  possible  and  reasonable  way  to the development of school, its  effective  management, organisation, order and discipline

 
Self-developing & skill-mastering

  • Increasing ones educational knowledge and staying up to date on new methods by joining professional organizations, attending continuing education courses and attending regular training sessions for teachers
  • Participating in the professional development courses organised by VFIS

 
Other duties

  • Writing reports
  • Attending school meetings and review sessions
  • Responsible for other tasks assigned by school leaders
  • Taking care of extracurricular activities appointed by principal (max 2 teaching hours/week)
  • Covering other teachers classes if needed (max 2h teaching hours/week)
  • Actively supporting and participating in school events and programs
  • Following VFIS regulations 

 
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES EXPECTED

  • Education
  • Bachelor or higher degree in Pedagogy/Teaching in subject area applying for. 
  • Preference: Graduated from training programs in English; graduated from universities of any developed countries; 

Experience

  • Proficient application of Information Technology in teaching and work.
  • At least three years of teaching experience at schools; at international schools is preferrable. 

 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • English Certificate: IELTS 5.0 or equivalent; good at speaking and reading.

Job Summary

Job expectation as follow:

  • 40 Working hours / week including Planning, Teaching, Organizing Extra-Curriculum activities, and Professional development activities;
  • Teaching 24 lessons / week (45 minutes/lesson; full-class teaching);
  • Teaching English to Vietnamese Teachers who are still at low English level or providing tutoring for weak students;
  • Assist in evaluating Student’s entrance placement;
  • Note, evaluate and provide feedback on Student's English proficiency;
  • Support the development of the English Program;
  • Be the Homeroom Teacher if assigned; .

Qualifications and Experiences

  • Master's degree in Education, English language or Linguistics (or in specific subject education plus multidisciplinary studies taught in basic education) including pedagogical training
  • Solid English language skills
  • Passion for teaching Children

  • Strong work ethic and flexibility
  • Strong pedagogical skills and competence
  • At least two-year commitment to VFIS
  • Minimum three years' recent experience of teaching English at oversea

Salary and additional Benefits:

VFIS has a competitive salary scale. New teachers are placed on the salary scale according to previous relevant experience and qualifications. The salary scale is reviewed annually to take account of inflation and to keep the school competitive.
