Officially opened in August 2019, Vietnam – Finland International School currently has 206 students from Grade 1 to Grade 5 enrolled in one of two programs: The International Program where the language of instruction is English and the Bilingual Program taught in English and Vietnamese. On June 26th, the school officially completed the annual teaching and learning program that was set out according to the academic plan and a student-centered approach. The teachers have conducted lessons inspired by Finnish educational methodology, often regarded as one of the best in the world. Education at VFIS aims to cherish and support child-centered learning and to help each student find joy in their unique way of learning. The school facilities provide a peaceful and open space designed by Finnish architects. It is not just simply a variety of academic activities which are offered during each school day. VFIS students are also inspired by extra-curricular activities and field trips.

To support parents in their task of bringing up their children and to spread the outstanding values of Finnish education to the community, Vietnam – Finland International School has held 15 workshops and training sessions on a variety of useful topics. The School has also welcomed more than 50 delegations from different schools, universities and government departments. Especially during the COVID-19 outbreak, VFIS was able to demonstrate the spirit of flexibility and continue teaching through distance learning from the beginning of February. Of course, the negative impacts caused by COVID-19 have been unavoidable, but the School was able to turn the situation into a chance for new kinds of learning, improving ourselves and the quality of education and service. The most important thing was the improvement in our students in terms of knowledge and digital skills during the outbreak.
