Study Physics at VFIS

Physics is for students who are curious about the world around them, as it seeks to explain the universe itself, from the very smallest particles to the immense distances between galaxies.  One of the main purposes of studying physics is to convey an image of the significance of physics in building a sustainable future: physics is needed in developing new technological solutions and securing the well-being of humans and the environment. The pupils are guided to take responsibility for their environment. Physics also helps the pupils understand the significance of physics and technology in daily life, the living environment, and society. By studying you will come to see physics as a towering achievement of human intelligence in its quest to understand our world and ourselves.

At VFIS physics combines the theoretical study of physics with practical work and the development of investigation skills. The teaching and learning of physics are based on observations and research on the natural and technological environment. There are a variety of approaches to the teaching of physics. By its very nature, physics lends itself to an experimental approach, and this will be reflected throughout the study of physics at VFIS.  Our VFIS Physics lab is equipped with the most modern apparatus and tools enabling a wide variety of experiments in a variety of topics.

At VFIS various approaches to learning/teaching are used from traditional to modern methods. Learning at VFIS emphasizes self-direction, peer-learning, social skills and it is a community-oriented education. These are the skills we need to teach our youngsters to become fulfilled individuals and active, compassionate citizens.
