Vietnam - Finland International School becomes an authorized IB World School for the Diploma Programme

This represents the most significant milestone in the IB authorisation process.  It is a validation from the International Baccalaureate Organisation that we are offering a high quality programme and can thus accept IB Diploma students for the SY 2021-2022.  

The decision was made by TDTU for VFIS to apply to be an IB World school shortly after the school was founded in 2016 and since then, and especially since the beginning of 2019, VFIS has been working towards this.  The work involved has involved the whole school community; teachers, coordinators, principals, support staff, students, parents and board members.  

We are very happy to now be the first Finnish IB World school in Asia and are excited to continue to strengthen the natural links that exist between Finnish and IB curricula and pedagogical approaches.  With a Finnish incoming Director General of the IB Organisation, Olli-Pekka Hienonen, the timing of our authorisation couldn’t be better.
