VFIS Story 2022 | Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha Le

Dear 2022,

This year was extremely memorable, as I had to leave everything, and everyone I know behind, to start a whole new chapter in my life. Studying master's in Finland is a life-changing experience, opening my eyes to different ways of life and a better understanding of people from all corners of the world. The more I immerse myself in one of the best education systems in the world, the more I understand the humanistic philosophy of education and the spirit of well-being. Here, the journey of learning is not a competition to prove myself as the best student, but rather a cooperative effort with classmates to exchange knowledge and experiences. Along this journey, teachers are always available to support me in both academic and mental health. Moreover, all my previous Finnish colleagues also are caring and supportive. Their messages in terms of sharing survival tips, taking care of my study, and sending words of encouragement, have made me feel winter is not a prolonged nightmare anymore, and Finland is beginning to feel like home. In 2023, I don’t know what surprise is waiting for me, the only thing I do know is to keep going. Keep learning to gracefully grow. For the hundreds of times, you reach your breaking point, there are another thousand times that prove you don’t belong there. You deserve to breathe and live peacefully. You deserve love and joy. It’s time to start believing in the power of your dreams and fulfill them!
