Study Art at VFIS

Tools for Thinking Art education is essential when we talk about mastering 21st century skills. Today’s children live in a complex, multimodal world filled with input from television, Internet, video games and so on. It is obvious that we need to equip our students with criticality and creativity of mind – both of these skills translating straight into problem-solving ability. 

Artistic abilities enable our children to see their answers, to build entire information maps using their imaginations. Not to mention the aesthetic and emotional awareness to become cognate as well as rounded members of our society.  

We all wish our children to succeed. High achievers in all areas often share something in common: more intensive interest towards a variety of subjects. The future citizens need to be both analytical and imaginative, to be innovative thinkers. Art Education sits perfectly alongside science. 

As if all this was not enough, we should not underestimate the value of the tremendous, collaborative joy that merges in the Art room. We all love and need VFIS Art Education! Saila Purho  Art teacher and 3A Homeroom Teacher
