A Welcome Letter from the Principal to the students of Vietnam-Finland International School at the start of the 2025-2026 school year
Today, September 5th, 2025, we join schools all across Vietnam to celebrate the start of a new school year. This year is especially significant because it marks the 80th anniversary of the Ministry of National Education. It's truly difficult to imagine our country without the foundation that education provides.
Dear VFIS students,
Learning is a journey—a lifestyle of curiosity that leads to new discoveries. It’s facing the challenge of a new topic that feels like a mountain to climb, and celebrating the satisfaction of reaching the summit.
I hope this year is filled with new knowledge, deeper understanding, and greater wisdom for all of us. I also hope we can continue to show our care for one another and for the wider community we are a part of here in the city.
As you may have noticed, we are always looking for ways to improve our school, and that commitment continues. We are excited to continue offering the same fantastic competitions and events you've come to love, including the Debate competition, VFIS Chess Fest, Sports competitions, and science fair. To help you practice public speaking, we are planning to hold more student-led morning assemblies, Public speaking and Storytelling Contests. You'll also find many new after-school sports clubs to join. Our non-digital recesses are the perfect opportunity to move around, have a chat with your friends, or simply take a quick, relaxing moment for yourself.
While each of you has your own unique interests and talents, we will move forward together as a community. This year, our focus isn't just on academics. It's also about taking care of one another, enjoying sports, arts, and music, being creative, and having fun. This is the adventure we are about to begin.
My door is always open if you have any concerns. Your Student Union representatives are also here to collect your voices and bring your ideas forward. Let's work together to make our school a place where everyone feels heard, safe, and cared for. By respecting ourselves, each other, and our environment, we can make that happen.
We wish you a new school year filled with happiness, health, and harmony.
Sincerely,
Ms. Miekk-Oja Suvi Kristiina
