Advice for Parents While Children are at Home

Another week at home has just started. The teachers are missing their students and parents have a headache figuring out what to do with their kids. How can parents make the time pass more smoothly?

Here are some points to consider:

Work with your child to build a timetable that includes time for eating, sleeping, learning, playing as well as using electrical devices. Eating and sleeping time should be similar to the schedule you follow on school days.

  • Try to spend at least one hour with your child every day to help with school work, read books, take a walk, play sports or play board games.
  • Help your child learn something new every day. It keeps children interested and enthusiastic.
  • Please remind your child to wash their hands often and to avoid crowded places and people who are sick.
  • Choose safe outdoor spaces, such as parks and playgrounds, and let the children play with their peers.

School closure is something none of us enjoys, but there are many ways we can make these days more meaningful.
