The visit of the Embassy of Finland for working with the Vietnam-Finland International School (VFIS)
On November 17th, 2018, Ton Duc Thang University was honored to welcome the Embassy of Finland and expert delegation leading by Ambassador Kari Kahiluoto, Deputy Ambassador Janne Oksanen, Ms. Anna Korpi, Finnish education adviser in Asia, and the representative of Wise Consulting Finland Oy (WCF). The representatives of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) and VFIS Project Management Board consist of Prof. Le Vinh Danh, President; Dr. Tran Trong Dao, Vice President; Ms. Trinh Minh Huyen, Head of VFIS Project Management Board; and Mr. Mika Rantala, Finnish education adviser at VFIS.
The head of VFIS, Ms. Trinh Minh Huyen reported the progress of VFIS project in 2018 and shared about the upcoming orientations of the program. Then, the proposals were presented in cooperation with Finnish education to spread in the community.
At the meeting, the Ambassador appreciated the efforts and dedication for education of the VFIS; and understood the difficulties on the journey to build and bring Finnish education to Vietnam. Ms. Anna Korpi, Finnish education adviser in Asia, shared that she is willing to provide support and help VFIS in any professional matter.
During the meeting, the Ambassador and the delegation visited the campus of TDTU and VFIS. The ambassador said he was very happy to see a full-fledged Finnish education model in Vietnam.
The representative of the University, President Prof. Le Vinh Danh thanked the Embassy of Finland and WCF for supporting the VFIS Project Management Board. The University has been making great efforts for a modern, enlightening and humanized education environment and community. The President sent an invitation to the attendees for the Opening Day event in August 2019.
