Robyn Lucas, our National Jui-jitsu Champion

Ms. Robyn’s love of movement and dance, piqued her interest in martial arts when she moved to Vietnam in 2018, she first began training in Muay Thai. When her Coaches moved gym, even though Robyn had vowed she would never do Brazilian Jui-Jitsu! Six months later this was all to change, Robyn joined Jiboia and start training in Jui-Jitsu in October 2020! Who would have thought we’d be saying that 6 months ago, Robyn is the National Champion of Vietnam.

Through Jui-Jitsu Robyn has found community, a sense of family away from her native England. New levels of patience, perseverance, compassion, teamwork, balance, and courage! Her teammates claim she has the courage of a bear and the heart of a lion! All qualities she wishes to instill in her students.

Robyn entered her first BJJ competition after just 3 weeks of training, losing 1 fight, winning another, a fire inside her was ignited!

After 6 months of incredible commitment, passion, hard work, and at times pure blood, sweat, and tears, Robyn, a white belt 4 stripe, took on the best in the country and became Our National Champion!
