Appointing the Acting Head of Vietnam - Finland International School
On August 9, 2023, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) announced the decision to appoint Ms. Miekk-Oja Suvi Kristiina (MSc) to hold the position of Acting Head of Vietnam-Finland International School (VFIS), starting from the school year 2023-2024.
Attending the appointment ceremony were Dr. Vo Hoang Duy, Vice President of TDTU, and Director of the Board of Directors of VFIS; Ms. Dang Thi Phi Yen (MA), Deputy Director; Ms. Phung Thi Thuy Thuy, Head of the Department of Personnel and Administrative Affairs of TDTU; and all VFIS teachers.
At the ceremony, Dr. Vo Hoang Duy said that the school’s Board of Directors spent a lot of time discussing and considering this appointment decision. He believed that with a wealth of experience in management and teaching, and a thorough understanding of Finnish education, Ms. Miekk-Oja Suvi Kristiina, together with VFIS teachers, would continue to achieve new successes and especially lead students into fully developed individuals with the spirit of SISU, which is determination and courage above all, a famous Finnish art of living.
Ms. Miekk-Oja Suvi Kristiina received her Master of Science degree in Biology from the University of Turku (the second largest university in Finland). Ms. Miekk-Oja Suvi Kristiina has nearly 20 years of experience in managing and teaching at many different educational institutions and has held various positions, such as life science teacher at Challenger Middle School (San Diego, California, USA); Senior training expert, specializing in social welfare activities and school violence prevention at the Teacher Training School of the University of Helsinki (Finland); Head of International Projects at the International School of Vantaa and Viikki Teacher Training School (Finland); etc. In addition, she successfully completed many sub-majors, including teacher training, geography, health education, and Spanish language.
In 2022, Ms. Miekk-Oja Suvi Kristiina marked an important milestone in her education as she chose Vietnam - Finland International School to continue sharing her passion for science and progressive Finnish educational philosophies. She is always active in all the undertakings of the school, becoming a role model in training and teaching for colleagues as well as being loved and respected by many parents and students for her enthusiasm and dedication.
