Vietnam - Finland International School commences the new school year 2023-2024
On the morning of August 22, 2023, Vietnam-Finland International School (VFIS) of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) held the opening ceremony of the new school year 2023-2024.
The Opening Ceremony was attended by Dr. Vo Hoang Duy - Vice President of TDTU, Director of the VFIS Board of Directors; Ms. Miekk-Oja Suvi Kristiina (MSc.) - Acting Head of VFIS, and leaders of the departments of TDTU and VFIS; parents and all the students of the School.
Addressing the Opening Ceremony, Dr. Vo Hoang Duy congratulated and encouraged the spirit of VFIS teachers and students, and affirmed that TDTU will always create favorable conditions for students to develop their best at VFIS. Especially, with direct admissions for high school graduates from VFIS, TDTU welcomes VFIS students to study in advanced study programs, as well as connects them with other prestigious educational partners around the world for higher education. At the ceremony, VFIS awarded scholarships to the students with outstanding academic results and constructive contributions to the community with a total value of nearly 1.7 billion VND.
With the efforts of the teachers and students, the trust and companionship of parents over the years. Vietnam-Finland International School has made it to its fifth school year, promising many new achievements. VFIS students are increasingly showing themselves as progressive individuals immersed in SISU spirit (stoic determination, tenacity of purpose, grit, bravery, resilience, and hardiness). In particular, the first batch of twelfth graders of VFIS who have just graduated in the academic year 2022-2023 has set off a new journey at prestigious universities in Vietnam and abroad, representing the quality of education VFIS.
The opening of the new school year 2023-2024 at VFIS not only marks a new milestone in the School’s development but also contributes to the overall success of TDTU through 26 years of construction and growth. With the close attention from Ton Duc Thang University and the solidarity of the teachers’ community, parents, and students, VFIS will persist in obtaining new achievements in the coming time.
Vietnam-Finland International School is a member of TDTU, which implements the high school curriculum replicating the Finnish educational prototype with modern facilities designed by Finnish architects. VFIS has also been recognized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) as an IB school globally and has been officially authorized to teach the International Baccalaureate Program since 2021. The school currently offers two study programs: International and Bilingual Programmes for students from first to twelfth graders. After graduating from high school, VFIS students are admitted directly to undergraduate studies at Ton Duc Thang University.
