School Community
Vietnam-Finland International School (VFIS) was founded in 2016 as the first Finnish IB school in South-East Asia. There are two programmes available in the school, an international one, which is based on the Finnish Curriculum with local adaptations and a Bilingual one, which is based on the Vietnamese Curriculum. Both programmes include Grades 1-12. On the international side Grade 10 is a pre-IB class and Grades 11 & 12 follow the IB Diploma programme.
VFIS became an IB World School in 2021, authorised by the International Baccalaureate Organisation to offer the IB Diploma Programme. We are excited to be the first Finnish IB school in Asia. With a new Finnish Director General of the IB organisation we hope for yet greater alignment between Finnish and IB curricula.
IB World Schools share a common philosophy, a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education-that we believe will encourage our students to lead rewarding personal and professional lives.

- Courses: Students have the freedom to take any number of their chosen subjects at either standard or higher level.
- High School certificate: Students take the same classes as students in other two pathways, but with a modified programme.
